AND WEATHER

METEOROLOGIST JEFF HABY

There is an important influence from weather on home construction. Ideally, construction would be done when the weather is nice. It order to meet deadlines and commitments, home construction is often continued during inclement weather including extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, snow, wind and storms. Technology is required to deal with weather situations. Technology includes special clothing to deal with the conditions, equipment to protect from weather damage and working around times with the worst weather.

When buying a home there are technologies available to reduce the damage from the weather. Below are some of these technologies:

1. Use a water protectant product on wood such as on decks and fencing

2. Sprinklers systems to save on water use and keep the lawn evenly watered

3. Alarm systems to warn when severe weather is approaching or when other emergencies occur

4. Severe weather reduction in damage: storm windows, stronger roof supports, screens, sturdy construction and stronger fence posts
